Planning - Location

Classroom - the classroom scene will be when Jenner bond receives her urgent phone call explaining she has a a mission to complete
College hallway - where Jenner runs through to quickly try and get changed into her spy kit
College toilets - where she gets changed and leaves her ordinary clothes behind
Angel station/high street - where Jenner bumps into loads of obstacles which puts her off task from making it to head office.

Shot by shot

We struggled as a group to create the shots, this was due to clashing ideas. I had an understanding of how the shots were meant to be taken and next time as a group we could decide on someone different to be behind the camera. Zaki felt the shots we're meant to be taken a certain way however Meeka and myself we're trying to tell him how we believe the shots were meant to be taken. We then clarified with Mary and found that the way myself and Meeka felt they were meant to be were correct.
The shots were meant to have variety within them to show the teachers our understandings of different types of camera shots and angles.

Planning Ideas

We came up with loads of different ideas...

We struggled with the grasping of the different ideas because we wasnt sure how we would be able to pull of the idea.
It then had got to the stage where we started voting for which idea we liked best and then crossing out the opposing one.
As a group we were stuck between two ideas: 1) A teenage boy who was achieving highly at college but also doing very well within his football career. The boy was then stuck in the dilemma to either take up the scholarship with a football team or go to a university he had worked so hard to achieve his grades for.
The idea 2) was a teenage ' James bond remake '. Where it was james bonds daughter accomplishing tasks in set time before the evil bad guys had taken over.

We decided to go with the James bond remake.

Planning - Locations

Classroom - The classroom scene will be when Jenner Bond receives an urgent phone call from head office explaining she has a mission to complete

College Hallway - Jenner Bond runs through the college hallways to go and get changed into her spy attire.

Angel Station/High Street - Jenner Bond bumps into loads of obstacles which puts her off task from making it to head office.

College Toilets - Jenner Bond gets changed and leaves her ordinary college clothes behind in the changing room.

Shot by shot

As a group we struggled to create the shots, this was because of the clashing of ideas within our group. I believe I had an understanding of how the shots were supposed to be taken. As a group i believe that we should appoint somebody different to take the shots. Zaki felt as though the shots we're meant to be taken a certain way however Taisha and I we're trying to explain to him that we believed the shots were supposed to be taken differently.

After clarification from Mary, Taisha and I found to be correct. The shots were supposed to be taken a different way. The shots were supposed to include a variety of differ ones such as close ups, in order to show we had a clear understanding of the different types of camera shots and angles.

Planning Movie Ideas

As a group we found it quite hard to settle on one idea in regards to planning our final movie piece. In the end we decided in order to make the final idea fair we had to vote on which movie ideas we each preferred and narrowed them down to a few.

After narrowing down all of our ideas  we became torn between two movie plots:

Idea 1 - A teenage boy who was achieving great grades at college and also doing very well within his football. The boy was stuck with the dilemma of either taking up the scholarship with a football team or go to a university which he had worked so hard to achieve his grades for.

Idea 2 - was a teenage ' James bond remake '. Where it was James Bonds daughter (Special Agent Jenner Bond) accomplishing tasks in set time before the evil bad guys had taken over.

In the end we decided to go with the James bond remake - Special Agent Jenner Bond

Taisha's layered sound clip - final

Sound Blog (editing and layering)

During the lessons we were asked to add a sound track to a clip miss had given us.
Through this we learned that legal rights means that songs or soundtracks used had to be copy right.
This was sometimes difficult because the songs you wanted for example from youtube were not copy right meaning it was illegal if we had used them.

We used Creative commons which a legal website that allows you to source legal music or soundtracks effectively.

I used music on sound cloud to add to my clip./

We used final cut pro, to add and fit the sounds onto the clip in the correct places. I enjoyed doing this, although when i couldn't find certain sounds that i wanted specifically it was difficult.

if we had found a sound on the creative commons website we converted in order for it to be use able on final cut pro.

Comparison: Original Breakfast Club VS Group 38 Version.

We used ideas from the Original opening scene from the Breakfast club, but we decided to add a twist to ours.

We started our scene with the title sequence, which was then followed by a wide shot of the front of the college. We then had a mid shot of the school clock, followed shortly after by panning of the school lockers.
After this we began to have the first car pull up to the scene followed on by the rest.

We mainly stuck t the structure of how the original went. We had a drawing of a road on blank white paper and pushed the cars along the paper to show each character arriving. we thought this was quite creative!
In terms of each character stepping out of the car, we used the media camera wheel as a pretend wheel and had a group member behind the wheel pretending to be each characters parent dropping them off.

Evidence of this are posted on the blogs in separate  posts.

Comparison between original breakfast club and GRoup 38 version

In our version of breakfast club we had almost the same scenes however added a little twist to it such as we had the same clock scen and locker scene before any cars pulled up we then allowed the characters to also arrive in same order. we used media props such as mini cars and hand made road for the car scene and fig rig as steering wheel of the car

These are screen shots, showing the process of me editing the sound on to the Higher learning using final cut pro.

This one shows the audio files being imported into
final cut pro.
Above is evidence of me getting some audio I used from sound cloud by typing rap music into creative commons website.

Reflective Post

The shot by shot remake Process was quite long. I found it frustrating and often my group disagreed on most things and lost motivation. This was because most of our ideas clashed, but after a while it all came together.
I Enjoyed acting the scenes and using the camera to film my class mates. What I most enjoy is directing, I love the fact that we can all put our ideas together to make an ending result.
Over the course of this project I have learnt the technical terminology that is used in media. I am more confident when it comes to using the camera and i feel proud when we make our final short films. I understand that the editing process takes the longest and a lot of patience is needed in order to make it work.

Evidence (part 4)

Props used

Graffitti on the lockers.

Evidence (Part 3)

We decided to film the characters leaving their vechicles in the hallway of third floor.
we did this by using the media camera wheel in replacememnt of a real car wheel. We had put to classroom chairs acting as the front seats of the vechicle.
Each character left the vechicle differently one by one.

We each took turns to film eachothers characters leaving the vechicle.
