This is a perfect example of stereotypes in teen movies as most of them are apparent these stereotypes allows target audience (teens) to relate to certain characters. Furthermore most of these stereotypes are set within a school or a college to get a more diverse set of characters. 

"Ugly betty" is another example of the pretty ugly girl the show is about her struggle to the top of the fashion world. going against general stereotypes about what fashion is and really looks like 

"American Pie" a world known movie sequence which shows the usual stereotypes associated within a high school etc. the american jock, the geek, the cheer leaders, the pretty ugly girl. furthermore the movie sequence shows the struggle of growing up an finding oneself taking the step from high school to college and so on.
